DIY Model Train TablePlanning Your DIY Model Train Table After you have had your railroad for a little while you may consider having a go at a DIY model train table. A starting point may be for you to lay the set out an unused table or a plywood sheet. You will soon realise, however, that this has its drawbacks.

Once you have built up the scenery and like then there it may be a few inches higher yet you would still be able to reach over onto the track to recover any vehicles that may derail.
